Baby clothes are judged in the middle of the night, one-handed, in the dark — and that's exactly how we design them. Every romper, sleepsuit and bodysuit in this category uses fastenings that make sense: two-way zips so you can change a nappy without undressing a sleeping baby, envelope necklines that slide over the head cleanly, and nickel-free poppers that line up the first time. Labels are printed, not stitched. Seams are flat. Nothing sits where a baby lies.

Most pieces are organic cotton, GOTS-standard where stated, chosen because newborn and infant skin is thinner and reacts to almost everything. Ribbed cotton gives stretch for growth spurts, while jersey lining keeps heavier items comfortable against bare arms and legs. Sizing at this age moves fast, so we cut a little generously and list actual garment measurements alongside the age range — if your baby is on the taller side, size up and roll the cuffs. Everything washes at 40°C, which matters more than style when you're doing a load a day. Wash new pieces before first wear, skip fabric softener to keep cotton absorbent, and dry flat where possible.
